We apply the psyche analysis method «octanalysis» to study personality disorders: paranoia.

Octanalysis notes that paranoia is such a limitation of the functionality of the psyche, when the congenital extraversion of the personality prevails over the congenital intraversion (the congenital dominance of extravert instances 5-Soul, 3-Irratio, 1-Mind, complementing each other, manifests itself to a greater extent than congenital dominance of introvert instances 4-Heart, 2-Ratio).

Hypertrophied expressed congenital extraversion of human perception leads him to a state of paranoia with the generation of images: visions, hallucinations. Consider examples.

EXAMPLE 1. In this example, the congenital dominance of the extravert instances 3-Irratio and 1-Mind prevails over the congenital dominance of the introvert instances 4-Heart, 2-Ratio.

Daniil Leonidovich Andreev (October 20 [November 2], 1906, Berlin – March 30, 1959, Moscow) – Russian and Soviet poet, writer, philosopher, representative of the «Silver Age» of Russian culture. The author of the mystical composition «Rose of the World».

Growing up, the young man appeared strange manifestations. The room was decorated with painted planets from fictional worlds, made-up words and phrases began to slip into speech. All Andreev’s entourage believed that a creator was growing in the boy – a writer or an artist, and no one thought that he had redrawn his own reality.

Eyewitnesses and close acquaintances of the writer described communication with Andreev as follows: «There was a feeling that he was falling into some other parallel world.» Those who saw how the writer created said that the spectacle did not resemble an essay, but that he barely had time to write down under someone’s dictation.

He claimed that the New Coming of the Great Teacher, predicted by many religions, would take the form of «Maitreya», the Universal Teacher. Buddhists call Maitreya the future Buddha, but Creme argued that Maitreya is the Teacher, whose appearance was indicated and hoped by all world religions. His other names, according to Crem, are: Christ, Imam Mahdi, Krishna and Messiah. Creme said that Maitreya, «Avatar for the Age of Aquarius», had been living in London since July 19, 1977.

In combination with the generation of images in Crem’s imagination, he has the ideas of the New Coming of the World Teacher, the ideas of predictions.

We apply the psyche analysis method «octanalysis» to study personality disorder: schizophrenia.

The Swiss psychiatrist Eugen Bleuler (1857—1939) in 1908 described schizophrenia as an independent disease and introduced this term into psychiatry.

Bleuler considered ambivalence to be the main symptom of schizophrenia. Bleuler considered three types of ambivalence: emotional, volitional, intellectual.

In other words, a schizophrenic finds it difficult to make three conscious choices of consciousness instances 5-Soul, 4-Heart, 1-Mind: respectively, emotional, volitional, intellectual choice.

When a life situation requires a conscious choice to be made, the schizophrenic cannot do so and thus creates difficulties for himself and those around him.

Octanalysis notes that schizophrenia is such a limitation of the functional capabilities of the psyche, when the congenital introversion of the personality prevails over extraversion (the congenital dominance of theintrovert instances 4-Heart, 2-Ratio, complementing each other, turns out to be stronger than the congenital dominance of the extravert instances 5-Soul, 3-Irratio, 1-Mind), or vice versa, congenital extraversion prevails over congenital introversion, which makes it difficult to make a conscious choice by the consciousness instances 5-Soul, 4-Heart, 1-Mind.

For example, when driving a car, for accident-free driving, the driver’s attention must be directed, first of all, outward, outside the car. In other words, extraversion of the driver’s attention should prevail over introversion of attention.

The same pattern is observed in the management of the psyche. When a person makes a conscious choice, extraversion of attention should prevail over introversion of attention.

When one of the consciousness instances 5-Soul, 4-Heart, 1-Mind does not show congenital dominance, it is difficult for a person to make a conscious choice with the help of this instance of consciousness. Consider examples.

EXAMPLE 1. Consider an example when the congenital dominance of the introvert instances 4-Heart, 2-Ratio prevails over the congenital dominance of the extravert instance 1-Mind.

James Beck Gordon (July 14, 1945, Los Angeles, California) is an American musician who specialized in working in the studio and songwriter. A Grammy Award winner, he was one of the most in-demand session drummers in the late 1960s and 1970s, recording albums with many famous musicians of the day, most notably the drummer for the blues-rock supergroup Derek & The Dominos.

Progressive schizophrenia forced Gordon to leave music in the early 1980s. Jim had low-grade schizophrenia. The diagnosis practically did not interfere with his life, and it seemed to everyone that the manifestations of the disease had faded. And in 1983, a tragedy happened: he killed his mother and after that was sentenced to life imprisonment with the right to parole after 16 years. Since 1999, he has been denied parole several times, most recently in March 2018, and he can file his next request no earlier than March 2021.

This means that introversion in Gordon’s psyche exaggeratedly prevails over extraversion, which creates difficulties for making a conscious choice.

Consider Stephen Karpman’s dramatic triangle – instances 3-Irratio, 2-Ratio, 1-Mind.

With a significant congenital dominance of the instances 1-Mind, 2-Ratio and the absence of congenital dominance of the instance 3-Irratio, conditions are created for the emergence of a personality disorder: bipolar affective disorder (manic-depressive psychosis).

With a significant congenital dominance of instances 1-Mind, 3-Irratio and the absence of congenital dominance of instance 2-Ratio, conditions are created for the emergence of a personality disorder: borderline personality disorder.

Gordon’s personality formula shows that he has a congenital tendency to bipolar disorder («one» twice as first dominant; «two» as first dominant and as second dominant; «three» is absent in the formula).

Jim Gordon’s life story shows that Gordon’s congenital tendency to bipolar disorder, combined with a congenital introversion that greatly outnumbers his congenital extraversion of the psyche, led to the murder of his mother.

EXAMPLE 2. Consider an example when the congenital dominance of the introvert instances 4-Heart, 2-Ratio prevails over the congenital dominance of the extravert instance 1-Mind.

Lionel Aldridge (February 14, 1941 – February 12, 1998) was an American professional soccer player who played quarterback in the National Football League for 11 seasons with the Green Bay Packers and the San Diego Chargers.

Few people expected that a football player who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in the 1960s would become a real paranoid by the age of thirty. Aldridge’s acquaintances and friends thought that Lionel had simply begun to «age», but the situation worsened when the athlete confessed to severe hallucinations. Just a few days after the confession, the athlete was hospitalized with a severe bout of schizophrenia.

The day of the attack divided the life of a previously successful athlete into «before» and «after». He wandered the streets, refused to return home, the neighbors mistook him for a homeless person. After some time, the situation improved. Aldridge was able to recover to normal with strong medication.

This means that introversion prevails over extraversion in Aldridge’s psyche, which makes it difficult to make a conscious choice. Aldridge has a congenital tendency to manifest schizophrenia.

Aldridge’s personality formula shows that he has a congenital tendency to bipolar disorder («one» as background dominant, as first dominant and as second dominant; «two» as first dominant and as second dominants; «three» is absent in the formula).

The personality formula revealed in Lionel Aldridge a combination of a congenital tendency to manifest bipolar disorder (manic-depressive psychosis) and a congenital tendency to manifest schizophrenia.

John Forbes Nash, Jr. (born June 13, 1928, Bluefield, West Virginia – May 23, 2015, New Jersey) was an American mathematician who worked in game theory, differential geometry, and the study of partial differential equations.. His theories are widely used in economics.

Winner of the 1994 Nobel Prize in Economics for «Equilibrium analysis in non-cooperative game theory» (together with Reinhard Selten and John Harsanyi). John Nash is the only person to have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics and the Abel Prize.

In 1959, Nash began to show signs of mental illness and spent several years in psychiatric hospitals undergoing treatment for paranoid schizophrenia. After 1970, his condition gradually improved, allowing him to return to work in the mid-1980s. His battle with illness and recovery formed the basis of Sylvia Nazar’s biography A Beautiful Mind, as well as a film of the same name starring Russell Crowe as Nash.

Hypertrophied extraversion gives rise to the manifestation of paranoia. The state of paranoia creates difficulties for the implementation of a conscious choice, schizophrenia manifests itself, more precisely, paranoid schizophrenia.

EXAMPLE 4. Consider an example when the congenital dominance of extravert instances 3-Irratio, 1-Mind prevails over the congenital dominance of introvert instances 4-Heart, 2-Ratio.

Amanda Laura Bynes (born April 3, 1986, Thousand Oaks, California, USA) is an American actress, ex-participant of the TV show All This.

For a long time, Amanda was noticed strange behavior: either her attacks on fellow actors, or an attempt to burn her own dog. Miraculously, a bystander was able to prevent the tragedy, and Bynes went straight to the clinic.

After hospitalization, the girl was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Amanda underwent a rather long course of treatment and is currently maintaining her condition with the help of potent drugs. Not so long ago, the comedian was again invited to shoot.

The octanalytic personality formulas of Jim Gordon, Lionel Aldridge, John Nash and Amanda Bynes show that in order to change fate for the better, children with such personality formulas must be registered in the octanalytic patronage system from birth for psycho-correction and psychological support throughout their lives.

Let us apply the psyche analysis method «octanalysis» to the study of personality disorders: «multiple personality».

Octanalysis studies the five-component structure of personality: three instances of consciousness 5-Soul, 4-Heart, 1-Mind and two instances of the unconscious 3-Irratio, 2-Ratio.

In the functioning of the personality, these instances dominate in turn in accordance with the hierarchy of personality instances.

In 2010, using the methods of octanalysis, the effect of congenital dominance of personality instances was discovered. Depending on the date of birth of a person, from two to five instances of his personality may show congenital dominance.

The degree of congenital dominance of personality instances can be different.

The octanalytic personality formula shows which personality instances exhibit congenital dominance, and it also shows the degree of congenital dominance for each personality instance.

Octanalysis notes that «multiple personality» is such a limitation of the functional capabilities of the psyche, when two instances of consciousness 4-Heart and 1-Mind have the same degree of hypertrophied pronounced congenital dominance, there is no hierarchy of dominance of these instances. In consciousness, there is a rapid switch from the dominance of the instance of consciousness 4-Heart to the dominance of the instance of consciousness 1-Mind and back.

A person perceives such a rapid switching of instances of his consciousness as a manifestation of «multiple personality». With each such switch, another personality begins to dominate in his mind. Consider an example.

EXAMPLE

William Stanley Milligan, known as Billy Milligan (born February 14, 1955, Miami Beach – December 12, 2014, Columbus) is an American citizen, one of the most famous people with a diagnosis of «multiple personality» in the history of psychiatry. Milligan’s personality splits consisted of 24 full-fledged personalities, of which 10 were the main ones: Milligan himself (as the main personality), Arthur Smith, Ragen Vadaskovinich, Allen, Tommy, David, Christine, Christopher, Adalana and Danny

In the late 1970s, he was tried in a highly publicized trial in Ohio, USA. Milligan was accused of several robberies and three rapes, but his lawyers declared the insanity of their client, claiming that the crimes were committed by two of his alternate personalities and without the knowledge of Milligan himself. As a result, he was acquitted, but committed to psychiatric treatment «until he recovers.» Billy Milligan became the first person to be acquitted in a trial on the basis of a multiple personality diagnosis. In 1988, after ten years in a psychiatric clinic, Milligan was declared recovered and was discharged.

The formula shows that the congenital dominance of the introvert instance of consciousness 4-Heart («four» as a background dominant, as first dominant and as second dominant) manifests itself to the same extent as congenital dominance of the extravert instance of consciousness 1-Mind («one» as first dominant and twice as second dominant).

There is a «beat», a quick switching of consciousness «4-Heart → 1-Mind→ 4-Heart». A person is fully conscious, but he is not able to control such a switch and is not able to slow down such a switching. This personality disorder is called «multiple personality».

The octanalytic personality formula of a newborn child can be drawn up five minutes after his birth. Billy Milligan’s octanalytic personality formula unequivocally indicates a congenital tendency to a «multiple personality» personality disorder. A child with such an octanalytic personality formula needs to be registered from birth in the system of octanalytic patronage for psycho-correction and psychological support throughout life.

With a mental disorder «bipolar affective disorder» (manic-depressive psychosis), the same degree of congenital dominance of the instances 2-Ratio and 1-Mind is observed, there is no dominance hierarchy of the instances 2-Ratio, 1-Mind. In the human psyche there is a cyclic switching «2-Ratio → 1-Mind → 2-Ratio», which a person does not control.

With a mental disorder «borderline personality disorder» the same degree of congenital dominance of instances 3-Irratio and 1-Mind is observed, there is no dominance hierarchy of instances 3-Irratio, 1-Mind. In the psyche, there is a cyclic switching «3-Irratio → 1-Mind → 3-Irratio», which a person does not control.

Mental disorders «multiple personality», «bipolar affective disorder», «borderline personality disorder» show that with the normal functioning of the psyche, the cycles of dominance of personality instances 5-Soul, 4-Heart, 3-Irratio, 2-Ratio, 1-Mind should be carried out without delay and under the control of consciousness.

Octanalysis notes that the 543215-cycle of dominance of personality instances is harmonious.
