Андреева Елена Михайловна – историк, закончила Пермский Государственный Национальный Исследовательский Университет (ПГНИУ), специализируется на истории и культуре Индии, в частности, на южноиндийской храмовой культуре. После окончания университета изучала индийский классический танец – сначала катхак, а затем бхаратанатьям (танджавур-бани) и робиндра-нритья у Чанданы Гхош (ученица Танкамани Кутти, Колкатта). Является руководителем Школы Изящных Искусств «Видья» при Пермском Доме Дружбы, где уже четырнадцать лет преподает бхаратанатьям, робиндро-нритья и санскрит, а также читает лекции по индийской истории, культуре и искусству.


В 2018 году Издательский Дом «Ганга» выпустил в свет книгу Елены Андреевой «Девадаси: Мир, унесенный ветром». В книге рассматриваются самые важные аспекты образа жизни храмовых танцовщиц и института девадаси в целом: терминология, происхождение института девадаси, основные этапы его развития, особенности южноиндийской храмовой культуры и экономики и многое другое. В приложении читатель сможет ознакомиться с историей Тамилнаду.
